From Contracts to Clarity: Transforming Unstructured Data with AI

The Challenge

After a major acquisition, this healthcare organization needed to integrate a massive dataset of over 65,000 provider contracts—each over 100 pages long. These contracts contained critical financial terms and compliance clauses, but the data was stored in unstructured formats, inconsistent databases, and outdated systems.

Manual validation wasn’t a viable option. It would have required months of tedious review and introduced a high risk of errors—jeopardizing claims accuracy and delaying the merger's strategic value.

They needed a faster, more intelligent way to extract and validate their data—and they needed it fast.

The Solution

Launch developed a custom AI-ready data platform built on AWS and Snowflake, with Looker providing real-time dashboards. At the heart of the solution was the Launch Intelligent Text Extractor (LITE)—a Python-based AI tool purpose-built to process and interpret large volumes of legal text.

LITE extracted key contractual data from each document, cross-referenced it against existing records, and surfaced inconsistencies that could impact claims, compliance, or provider relationships. The automated pipeline reduced manual intervention, increased data quality, and enabled the organization to confidently proceed with system integration.
