In Colorado, providing low-income and underprivileged individuals access to health insurance is a critical concern. The state offers two primary pathways to coverage: policies subsidized under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as Obamacare, and state-run Medicaid and Medicare programs. However, navigating these options can be challenging, particularly for individuals whose eligibility fluctuates throughout the year.
To address this, our client aimed to develop a single, state-wide application platform that would streamline access to healthcare and welfare benefits for its residents. Their next step? Joining forces with CGI, the State of Colorado, and Connect for Health Colorado to create a user-friendly experience and unified platform.
Building Two Robust Systems
The challenge was clear: create a seamless solution by integrating two distinct benefit systems. While Colorado’s ACA marketplace needed a separate approach due to its newer structure, the long-established state benefits systems required a different set of tools. To address these distinct needs, the team developed separate platforms: one for ACA benefits and another for state programs.
Salesforce played a pivotal role in the transformation of the state’s Medicaid and Medicare programs. Launch Consulting leveraged Salesforce’s powerful capabilities to build a robust application that met all compliance and state requirements. Close collaboration with staff ensured the solution was tailored to the unique needs of Colorado’s residents, enhancing accessibility and efficiency across the board.
